Eric Cantor is the majority leader for the US House of Representatives. Representing Virginia's 7th district, Cantor has served in the House since 2001. In Congress, he has earned a reputation as a strategic thinker and ideas-driven conservative. Congressional Quarterly has described him as "the GOP's communicator, rainmaker and consensus builder." A former small businessman, he is a leading voice on the economy and job creation. Previously, he was minority whip, and he formerly chaired the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare.
