Elena Kagan

Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States

Elena Kagan is an associate justice of the Supreme Court. Prior to her appointment in 2010, she served for a year as solicitor general of the United States. Between 2003 and 2009, Kagan was dean of Harvard Law School. Prior to that, she was a law professor at University of Chicago Law School and at Harvard. She served for four years in the Clinton Administration, as associate counsel to the president and then as deputy assistant to the president for domestic policy.
