Elaine Chang

Founder, Social Teeth; Graduate Student, Stanford University

Elaine Chang is the founder of Social Teeth, an organization committed to amplifying citizen voices. Social Teeth provides a platform for citizens and grassroots organizations to launch their own campaigns into the mass media. Prior to Social Teeth, Chang was a battery technologist at Better Place, an electric car services company whose mission was to change the world by reducing the need for oil. At Better Place, she managed development of advanced battery systems and helped lead environmental and social initiatives, including a rural electrification project with the Gates Foundation. Chang graduated from Stanford in 2010 with a BS in materials science. At Stanford she co-founded the Stanford Green Fund, which grants $30,000 a year to student-led environmental initiatives.
