Derek Thompson is a senior editor at The Atlantic, where he writes about economics, labor markets, and the media. A weekly contributor to “Here and Now,” the national afternoon news show on NPR, he also appears regularly on CBS, the BBC, and MSNBC. Thompson is the author of the national best-selling book Hit Makers: The Science of Popularity in an Age of Distraction. He is the recipient of several honors, including both Inc. magazine’s and Forbes’s30 Under 30 lists and the 2016 Best in Business Award for Columns and Commentary from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers.
