David Rubenstein

Co-Founder and Co-CEO, The Carlyle Group

David Rubenstein is co-CEO of The Carlyle Group, the private equity firm he co-founded in 1987. He previously practiced law, was a domestic policy advisor to President Carter, and was chief counsel to a Senate Judiciary Committee subcommittee. Rubenstein’s extensive board service includes chairman of Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Duke University, Library of Congress Madison Council, Harvard Global Advisory Council, and the Smithsonian Institution; co-chairman of Brookings Institution; vice chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations; president of the Economic Club of Washington; and board member of University of Chicago, National Gallery of Art, Institute for Advanced Study, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and Johns Hopkins Medicine.
