David M. Rubenstein

Co-Founder and Co-CEO, The Carlyle Group

David M. Rubenstein is co-CEO of The Carlyle Group, the private equity firm he co-founded in 1987. He previously practiced law, was deputy assistant to the president for domestic policy during the Carter administration; and was chief counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Constitutional Amendments. Rubenstein is chairman of John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Duke University, a regent of the Smithsonian Institution, co-chairman of Brookings Institution, vice chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations, president of the Economic Club of Washington, and serves on many other boards, including those of Johns Hopkins University, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
