
David Leonhardt
Op-Ed Columnist, The New York Times
David Leonhardt is an op-ed columnist for The New York Times and writes a daily e-mail newsletter, Opinion Today. His prior assignment was leading a strategy group that helped Times leadership shape the future of the newsroom. Leonhardt was previously Washington bureau chief and founding editor of The Upshot, a Times section covering politics and policy. He has also worked for Business Week and The Washington Post. In 2011, he won a Pulitzer Prize for Commentary for his columns on the financial crisis and its aftermath. Leonhardt serves on the board of the American Academy of Political and Social Science and the jury for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
