David Carr is a writer and reporter for The New York Times. He covers media and technology in the Media Equation column. He also contributes to the Media Decoder blog, writes for the culture section, and appears on The Sweet Spot, a weekly video segment on culture and media. Prior to joining the Times in 2002, Carr was editor of the Washington City Paper and the Twin Cities Reader. His best-selling memoir, The Night of the Gun, was published in 2008.
