Darrell G. Kirch

President and CEO, Association of American Medical Colleges

Darrell G. Kirch is president and CEO of the Association of American Medical Colleges. Prior to 2006, he was dean and academic health system leader of Medical College of Georgia and the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He has co-chaired the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and now chairs the Washington Higher Education Secretariat and the Department of Veterans Affairs Special Medical Advisory Group. A psychiatrist and clinical neuroscientist, Kirch began his career at the National Institute of Mental Health, becoming the acting scientific director in 1993 and receiving the US Public Health Service Outstanding Service Medal.
