Craig Barrett has been the chairman of the board of the Intel Corporation since 2005. Formerly, he was elected CEO of Intel in 1998 and became the company’s fourth president in 1997. He has worked for Intel since 1974. Barrett also serves as chairman of the United Nations Global Alliance for Information and Communication Technologies and Development and is an appointee to the President’s Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. A former associate professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of Stanford University, he is the author of more than 40 technical papers in his field of study and is a leading advocate for improving education in the United States.
