Cameron Carpenter is an organist. With a diverse repertoire that includes traditional pieces, film scores, and original compositions, he is the first concert organist to prefer and champion the digital organ to the pipe organ. In 2014, Carpenter designed and launched his cross-genre digital International Touring Organ. His debut album, If You Could Read My Mind,entered Billboard’s traditional classical chart at No. 1 on its US release, followed by the documentary The Sound of My Life. Carpenter holds the 2012 Leonard Bernstein Award and is the first solo organist ever nominated for a Grammy for a solo album. He has spoken at TED, IdeaCity, and The Entertainment Gathering.
