Brian Koll is executive medical director for infection prevention and control for Mount Sinai Health System and a professor of medicine for its Icahn School of Medicine. In 2014, under Koll’s leadership, Mount Sinai Hospital served as an Ebola treatment center for the State of New York. An award-winning infection-prevention expert, Koll is a 2010 National Association for Professionals in Infection Control Hero of Infection Prevention, has received three Pinnacle Awards for Quality and Patient Safety from the Healthcare Association of New York State, and earned two awards from the US Department of Health and Human Services for outstanding achievement and leadership in eliminating health care-associated infections.
