Brett Perlman

Fellow, Consortium for Energy Policy Research, Harvard Kennedy School of Government

Brett Perlman is a fellow at the Consortium for Energy Policy Research at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, where his work focuses on the intersection of climate change, energy policy, and technology innovation. Prior to this, he was a fellow in the Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative, which brought together 50 global leaders to develop approaches to solving pressing social issues. Previously, Perlman’s 25-year energy career spanned senior positions in business, government, and community organizations, including serving on the Texas Public Utility Commission, which he was appointed to in 1999 by then-governor George W. Bush. While in public service, he led the restructuring of Texas’ $37 billion electric utility industry.
