Senior Director and Advocate, Zen Hospice Project

BJ Miller is senior director and advocate of the Zen Hospice Project, where he has held several positions including executive director and board member. He is also an assistant clinical professor of medicine at University of California San Francisco, where he attends on the Symptom Management Service of the Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center. In 2014, Miller advocated for and helped the San Francisco Public Health Department mobilize the Palliative Care Task Force, the first such body in a major US city. He has spoken at TED and received many awards, including the William Osler Distinguished Teaching Award and the AAHPM/Project on Death in America Palliative Medicine Community Leadership Award.
