Betty King is the former US ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, a post she held from 2010 to 2013. She previously served as the US representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Council under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. She was the principal American negotiator on the Millennium Development Goals, eight international development goals established following the United Nations’ Millennium Summit in 2000. King has an extensive background in philanthropy, having served in senior leadership roles at several major foundations, including the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the California Endowment, and the Atlantic Philanthropies.
