Belinda Reininger is an associate professor of health promotion and behavioral science at the University of Texas School of Public Health at Brownsville. Her research focuses on evidence-based, participatory approaches to improving health with minority populations. Reininger serves as principal investigator for several projects addressing chronic diseases and has over 55 peer-reviewed publications. She previously held positions at University of South Carolina’s Arnold School of Public Health and University of Texas, Houston Health Science Center. Reininger, in partnership with an active community advisory board in south Texas, has supported policy and environmental changes including tobacco-free ordinances and farmers markets.
