Andy Slavitt is a senior advisor for the Bipartisan Policy Center. From 2015 to 2017, he was acting administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, where he began his tenure overseeing the turnaround of healthcare.gov. Slavitt was previously group executive vice president for UnitedHealth Group’s Optum, founder and CEO of HealthAllies, and a McKinsey & Company consultant. One of Modern Healthcare’s ten most influential people in health care and recipient of the AMA’s Award for Outstanding Government Service, Slavitt contributes opinion pieces to USA Today; has been published by The Washington Post, POLITICO, and US News; and is a frequent TV pundit on health care issues.
