Alicia Georges is president elect of AARP (Festival Underwriter) and a professor and chair of the Department of Nursing at Lehman College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Her research and professional interests include health disparities, health literacy, and international nursing education and practice. Her primary teaching areas are health disparities, community health, trends and issues, and health policy. Previously, Georges was a staff nurse, team leader, supervisor, and district manager for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. She is president of the National Black Nurses Foundation, and she serves on the boards of the Black Women’s Health Study and R.A.I.N., Inc. (Festival Underwriter Presenter)
