Catherine Alicia Georges

National Volunteer President, AARP (Festival Underwriter); Professor and Chair, Department of Nursing, Lehman College and Graduate Center, City University of New York

Catherine Alicia Georges is national volunteer president for AARP, serving from June 2018 to June 2020, and a member of the all-volunteer AARP Board of Directors. She is also a professor in and chair of the Department of Nursing at Lehman College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Previously in her career, Georges was a staff nurse, team leader, supervisor, and district manager for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. She  currently serves as president of the National Black Nurses Foundation and as a board member of Black Women’s Health Study and R.A.I.N. Inc.
