Vlad the Embezzler: Why Putin Wants Me Dead

Setup

After Bill Browder’s Russian lawyer, Sergei Magnitsky, was beaten to death in a Moscow jail after uncovering a fraudulent $230 million tax refund scheme, Browder went on a mission to bring Magnitsky’s killers to justice. When Browder and his team discovered that the evidence led right up to Vladimir Putin, the regime retaliated. They went after Browder with death threats, kidnapping plots, Interpol arrest warrants, and honey traps. They even enlisted some of the top lawyers and politicians in America to bring Browder down. Browder’s tale is recounted in his new book, Freezing Order.
