Leaders for Our Times, Solutions for Our Future: Ten Years of the Ascend Fellowship (Reception)
Setup
Leadership isn’t a fixed idea — done well, leadership evolves into what the world calls it to be. Right now, society needs ambitious leaders to tackle unbroken cycles of poverty, address growing inequities, and restore trust — which is at a record low. For the last ten years, through the Ascend Fellowship, Ascend at the Aspen Institute has been reimagining how we nurture courageous leaders to solve complex problems and accelerate intergenerational family well-being. Join us for a conversation with visionary Ascend fellows as we explore what future-forward leadership looks like in action and what it will take to fully activate leadership for the world our children and families deserve. Speakers Melvin Carter, mayor of Saint Paul, Minnesota; Dr. Aisha Nyandoro of Springboard to Opportunities (Jackson, Mississippi); Melanie Bridgeforth of Women’s Foundation of Alabama; and Dr. Lori Pfingst of Washington State Department of Social and Health Services will also join this special session.
