Ocean Chemistry and Climate Change

Oceans absorb a quarter of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Once considered a storage unit for the mounting quantities of CO2 produced by human industry, this tremendous intake of carbon dioxide is starting to change the chemical composition of our oceans, literally turning them sour. What does this mean for our planet, and what can be done to turn the tide?
