Global Connections: Who Governs the Cyberspace Commons?

The new World of multiparticipant media — wikis, blogs, sprawling multiplayer online games, self-published sites, virtual Worlds, and more — are creating the "cyberspace commons." Compared to their static predecessors in print and even on the web, these media are significantly more dynamic, interactive, and increasingly interdependent. They enable instantaneous mass collaboration in a manner that transcends traditional conceptions of journalism, commentary, communication, and information security.
