Deep Dive: Is The Internet Taking Us Where We Want to Go?

The internet is 50 years old now. It's made up of billions of nodes of which 99% were not imagined when the internet was invented. Always on, always running somewhere in the world, the internet enables millions of creative people to program mass innovation on a global scale every single day. It allows us to collaborate and communicate on a scale never seen in human history. It allows us to buy, sell, play, learn, read, share, write, create, pose questions, solve problems, share knowledge. But the internet is far from perfect. We can lie, cheat, steal, learn to make bombs, prey on kids, and so on.. We are newly defined by data points, we are no longer private, we are manipulated. Can the internet, and all the technologies that underscore so much of our lives today, get us where we want to go?
