Underwriters of the 2017 Aspen Ideas Festival represent some of the foremost organizations in the U.S. and around the world. We are proud to present their ideas, their executives, and their important work in the following pages.
Toyota is shaping the future of mobility to be safer, greener and more comfortable and accessible for everyone. It’s a future filled with all sorts of technologies that can take you around the world, across town or just across the living room. We’re using big data to make better cars and improve the customer experience in myriad ways. We believe it’s possible to have clean transportation and a clean environment, complete with power sources that can send you 300 miles on a single fill of hydrogen while emitting nothing but H2O. And through strong partnerships, we’re sharing our know-how and bringing diverse ideas and people together to inspire mobility solutions for a better world.
Here in the U.S., Toyota has been part of the cultural fabric of the communities where we live and work for nearly 60 years – and today has 10 manufacturing facilities, nearly 1,500 dealerships and 136,000 direct and indirect employees. We've directly invested more than $22 billion, and we plan to invest an additional $10 billion over the next five years, as we continue construction of our new corporate headquarters in Plano, TX and expand certain plants, among other ventures. Toyota was named among the world’s 50 smartest companies in 2016 by MIT Technology Review, and has ranked number one for car companies on Fortune’s “World’s Most Admired Companies” list for three years in a row.
