Executive Director, Stevens Initiative, The Aspen Institute
Mohamed Abdel-Kader is executive director of the Stevens Initiative at the Aspen Institute. Previously, he served in the Obama administration as deputy assistant secretary for international and foreign language education at the US Department of Education Office of Postsecondary Education. Prior to that, Abdel-Kader was director of development for the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, managing its advancement strategy in the Middle East. He also led development efforts for George Mason University’s Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study and set international strategy for university partnerships around the world. Abdel-Kader has advised clients on organizational strategy, doing business in emerging markets, and intercultural communication and is a Truman National Security Fellow.
