John Dickerson

John Dickerson is political director at CBS News, where he anchors “Face the Nation,” and is a contributor to Slate magazine and its podcast “The Political Gabfest.” He hosts a twice-monthly podcast, “Whistlestop,” on moments in presidential campaign history. A Washington reporter for 20 years, Dickerson covered politics for twelve years for TIME, including as its White House correspondent covering the George W. Bush presidency. He authored On Her Trail, about his mother, the pioneering newswoman Nancy Dickerson, and The New York Times best-seller Whistlestop. He has written two long-form series for Slate, including one on presidential attributes which won the Ford Prize for Distinguished Reporting on the Presidency.
