Richard Berke

Executive Editor, STAT

Richard Berke is the founding executive editor of STAT, a national publication launched in 2015 covering health, medicine, and life sciences. Prior to STAT, he was executive editor of POLITICO. For nearly three decades before that, Berke was a reporter and editor at The New York Times, where among other roles he was national political correspondent, White House correspondent, congressional correspondent, Washington editor, national editor, and assistant managing editor. He started his career as a reporter at the Baltimore Evening Sun. Berke is board member of the Institute of Politics at Harvard's Kennedy School, where he has also been an adjunct lecturer.
