The Aspen Institute and the Aspen Ideas Festival are excited to announce the inaugural Aspen Ideas Award. Designed to inspire ideas and innovation that will have a lasting impact on communities around the globe, the Award is an exciting new way to help seed projects touching on a variety of issues.
Over the past few weeks, Festival Presenters and Scholars have been hard at work formulating a pitch that they feel will have a measurable, positive impact on their communities. Each Festival session—Spotlight Health, Festival 1, and Festival 2—will invite five finalists to pitch in front of a live audience at the 2015 Aspen Ideas Festival for a chance to win $25,000 to help put their idea into action. Now that the submission deadline has come and gone, we need your help in choosing who makes it to the final round.
We want you to be involved! Go to award.aspenideas.org to see the submissions and VOTE. Who knows, maybe your favorite will get the chance present their pitch live, on stage this summer.
Spotlight Health Previews
Aspen Public Radio features a multi-part series focused on issues that we’ll examine at Spotlight Health. Episode 1 features Krista Donaldson, CEO D-Rev and Elizabeth Bradley, director of the Yale Global Health Initiative. The two talk about the world of prosthetics and light therapy, and how medical technology is changing. They also delve into why healthcare is so expensive in the United States, even though the quality of care isn’t always that great. Register for Spotlight Health.
