  • Discuss major initiatives of the molecular biological revolution currently underway such as CRISPR and bioprinting, and their implications to public health (e.g., cancer, Alzheimer’s disease).
  • Assess the impact digital technology is having on the infrastructure of health care delivery and specifically how the decentralization of health data creates new roles and institutions.
  • Describe how the social determinants of health can propel the creation of healthy communities, specifically addressing the built environment, pollution, wealth/income differentials and social cohesion (resilience).
  • Review the complex relationships that govern how human beings interact with and depend on the natural environment, simultaneously debased by resource extraction, tapped for new medicines and cherished as a source of spiritual renewal.
