Tom Sturges is executive vice president, head of creative at Universal Music Publishing Group where he manages the creative team, develops and partners new talent acquisitions, and creates marketing and exploitation programs that benefit the continuing career development of the writers, writer/artists, and writer/producers signed to the UMPG family. He has been part of several signings including Foo Fighters, 50 Cent, and Jack Johnson, to name a few. Previously he was vice president and general manager of Shaquille O’Neal’s Twism Records and president of Chrysalis Music, USA. He is the first executive-in-residence at the Clive Davis School of Recorded Music at New York University. Sturges has received 40 awards from civic and national leaders for his work with inner-city public school children, documented in the award-winning film Witness To A Dream. His book, Grow The Tree You Got & Other Ideas for Raising Amazing Adolescents and Teenagers, was recently published.
