Pamela S. Karlan is Kenneth and Harle Montgomery Professor of Public Interest Law at Stanford Law School and co-directs its Supreme Court Litigation Clinic. Karlan has worked on over 70 cases at the US Supreme Court and has argued seven cases. Karlan clerked for Justice Harry Blackmun, worked at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and served on the California Fair Political Practices Commission. Karlan writes about constitutional law and civil rights. In addition to her book, Keeping Faith with the Constitution, she has written three casebooks, dozens of scholarly articles, and she writes a bimonthly column for the Boston Review. She belongs to the American Law Institute, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.
