Michael D. Smith
Michael D. Smith is the vice president of social innovation at The Case Foundation. In this capacity, he works with the CEO to set the programmatic direction of the Foundation and manages a multi-million dollar portfolio of social investments and partnerships designed to spark civic participation and expand giving. Previously, Michael was a leader in efforts aimed at bridging the “digital divide.” At the Beaumont Foundation of America he was the lead program officer of an effort creating nearly 600 youth technology programs. As a regional program manager at PowerUP he oversaw the launch and operation of nearly 200 youth technology centers. Michael also served as a senior program and communications staff member at a Massachusetts Boys & Girls Club and was an aide to U.S. Congressman Richard E. Neal.
