James P. Steyer is founder and CEO of Common Sense Media, the nation’s leading advocacy organization for kids and media. He is a founding board member of the Center for the Next Generation, a nonpartisan organization supporting programs and policies that benefit the next generation of young Americans by using targeted communications to drive the development of an advanced energy economy and to build support for ensuring that America’s young people grow up healthy, are properly educated, and are well-prepared for the workforce. Steyer is the author of Talking Back to Facebook, a timely look at how digital media is affecting our children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development. He is also a consulting professor at Stanford University.
