Damian Woetzel

Damian Woetzel is director of the Aspen Institute Arts Program. Since retiring from a 20-year career as principal dancer with New York City Ballet, he has taken on multiple roles in arts leadership. He also currently serves as artistic director of the Vail International Dance Festival and founding director of the Jerome Robbins New Essential Works Program, and he is active as a producer and director for the stage. Woetzel was appointed to the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities in 2009.
