Dale Dougherty

Dale Dougherty is the founder and editor of Make Magazine and Maker Faire, and general manager of the Maker Media division of O’Reilly Media, Inc. Make Magazine provides instruction and inspiration for DIY tech enthusiasts of all ages. Maker Faire is a hands-on learning event that showcases DIY in arts and crafts, as well as science and engineering. Dougherty was the developer and publisher of Global Network Navigator, the first commercial website, which launched in 1993 and was sold to AOL in 1995. He developed the Hacks series of books and is the author of Sed & Awk. Previously, he was a lecturer in the School of Information Management and Systems at the University of California at Berkeley
