Arthur Brooks

Arthur C. Brooks is president of the American Enterprise Institute. Brooks came to AEI in early 2009 from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, where he was the Louis A. Bantle professor of business and government policy. He is the author of nine books, including, most recently, The Road to Freedom: How to Win the Fight for Free Enterprise and dozens of academic and popular articles. He has also appeared on many of the nation’s top-rated radio and television programs. His writings are known for demolishing conventional wisdom about a wide range of topics from charitable giving to happiness. His 2010 book, The Battle: How the Fight between Free Enterprise and Big Government Will Shape America’s Future, asserts that America is a country supportive of small government and free enterprise, regardless of what our leaders tell us.
