Block Party

Aspen Ideas Festival Block Party 2012

ASPEN IDEAS BLOCK PARTY

Designed to truly bring part of the Aspen Ideas Festival to the greater Aspen and Roaring Fork Valley community, the Block Party will showcase speakers and local organizations as well as community members from three of our Festival tracks:

  • Arts and Culture: Art Matters
  • Raising the 21st Century Child
  • The Economy: Is the Crisis Permanent?

The event will feature traditional, Ideas Festival-type speaker presentations, and will be complemented by a “Tradeshow For Ideas” that features interactive booths, exhibits, activities, and presentations by local partner groups including businesses, non-profits, community organizations, and more.

And what Block Party would be complete without music? Legacy will feature its truth®truck, a bright orange truck dedicated to sharing its anti-tobacco campaign to kids and adults through the powerful medium of music. There will be lots of delicious food on hand, too. In addition to several local vendors offering mouthwatering eats, PepsiCo will hand out healthy snacks and beverages for all to enjoy.

This is a family-oriented event with fun activities for folks of all ages. The Block Party will be followed by a special dedication of Aspen’s John Denver Sanctuary — a must-do for fans of the Rocky Mountain crooner.

The Block Party will take place rain or shine, and please bring your own blanket or lawn chair if you’d like to get comfy and stay a while!

As transportation will be limited from the Aspen Meadows Campus, please check your Festival Agenda for transportation options as well as the final Speaker lineup!
